| These "coffe-table books"
are generally the same style. "Spirit of .." is more general,
while "Pearls of ..." features more coverage of Patrouille Suisse,
PC-7 team and Hornets. Both books present air to air pictures taken by pilots and professionals of the Swiss AF, showing first line and utility a/c of present equipment (Mirage, Tiger, Hornet, Helicopters, PC-7 etc.). Bigger than half page sized photos show mostly one a/c over Swiss countryside or over well known Swiss landmarks and characteristic buildings, with explaining text in German/French/English opposite. Produced to commemorate 80 years of Swiss AF both books feature superb coverage of the subjects and also serve modellers well, providing pictures and views only possible with air to air stills. Quality and low circulation are reflected in price but these books will be collectors items soon. Just a pity the Swiss AF have not produced something comparable ten, twenty or thirty years ago...
